Lisa Presley was only 9 years old when her father, Elvis, dies in August of 1977. Within a few years after that, her grandfather, Vernon Presley and great grandmother Minnie Mae Hood Presley passed away and Lisa Presley became the sole heir to Graceland. Once of Elvis's last performances was in his favorite vacation spots, the Aloha state, Hawaii. Elvis very much enjoyed his R&R time at his favorite tropical location. He shot three movies in Hawaii, Blue Hawaii, Girls! Girls! Girls!, and Paradise, Hawaiian Style). These movies were shot on Maui but also featured footage from the Kona Coast near Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Elvis loved bringing his family and friends to the Hawaiian Islands between movies. He liked to keep his family life low key and decided to use the last name of 'Carpenter' when traveling.

Inspiration to Many
Lisa Marie Presley was an inspiration to many as she found joy in music and motherhood. She also enjoyed travel which can provide a reminder to all of us to make the most of the time we have. Her death at the young age of 54, and her father at only 42, should inspire us to get out into the world and treasure the time with our family and loved ones.
