This online gallery showcases fine art photography from the Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier located in La Jolla, California by world-class landscape and nature photographer, Joe Garza. Just north of San Diego, this pier, located near the La Jolla art galleries of Peter Lik and Ian Ely, is an icon of UC San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography and a vital research facility that houses numerous environmental monitoring stations. The modern pier was built with funds from the Ellen Browning family and replaced the original pier that was built in 1916.
This unparalleled collection brings you vertical and horizontal prints in a beautiful panoramic style that shows the perspective of the pier as it looks out into the ocean, both in its fury of power and its calmest reflection.
